Fletcher DC Career Trip 2012

We are pleased to announce that the Fletcher Washington, DC Career Information Trip is scheduled for Thursday, February 23 – Friday, February 24, 2012. The Office of Career Services and the Office of Development and Alumni Relations are currently underway in planning a full schedule of events, including:

THURSDAY, FEBRUARY 23

Alumni Career Panels
• Conflict Resolution
• Energy & Environment
• Humanitarian Assistance/Human Rights/Refugee Affairs
• International Development
• International Trade & Commerce
• International Communications & Media
• Policy Research/Think Tanks
• US Security & Intelligence

These panels will take place at the Carnegie Endowment for International Peace and The Brookings Institution. As in previous years, we welcome DC area alumni to attend these panels as participants as well as panelists.

Networking Receptions

Please mark your calendars for the annual Alumni-Student Reception, which will take place at the National Press Club from 6:30 – 8:30pm. Be on the lookout for an invitation from The Fletcher Office of Development and Alumni Relations. In addition, some student clubs will also be organizing early afternoon networking receptions and early evening happy hours prior to the evening event.

Employer Site Visits

More than a dozen employers host groups of Fletcher students for both career information gathering and recruitment purposes.

Student - Alumni Luncheons

The Office of Career Services will coordinate a series of small group luncheons, in which one alumnus/a working in the fields of interest to students will be matched with 3-4 students who are interested in learning more about these career fields. We will be contacting alumni individually in the upcoming weeks to set up the luncheons, which will be held at locations convenient to the volunteers.
