DC Fletcherites Participate in Servathon

ServathonOn May 2, a strong team of Fletcher Alumni volunteered at the Servathon 2009 with DC Cares. All morning they labored under the sun, and occasional light rain, de-weeding and mulching small trees at the Fairfax ReLeaf Park in Annandale, Virginia. Those hard-working arborists from Fletcher were Marti Flacks, Anna Balogh, Zaid A. Zaid and Pedro Moreno.

The work was tough, cutting poison ivy, avoiding little snakes as we did the work and carrying loads of mulch from one place to the other, but we had a great time catching up with each other and building on our Fletcher connections. We ended up raising close to $1,200 and Zaid won a prize as an accomplished fund-raiser! We are looking forward to future opportunities to serve our communities and we hope that other Fletcher Alumni will join us next time!
