Chair

Chair: Maintains momentum of club activities by coordinating with committee co-chairs; liaison with the Alumni Relations Office; schedule regular meetings with club leadership and core volunteer group; represent club at official Fletcher School events; provides updates to the Fletcher School's Development Committee; respond to inquiries sent to the Club email address from students, alumni, and prospective students; assisting with annual Dean's visit to Washington and annual OCS trip; coordinates with other Fletcher alumni clubs; coordinates with other local APSIA schools (e.g., SAIS, Kennedy, Columbia, etc.); provides overall leadership, ensuring that the website is updated and publication of any newsletter. The current acting, interim co-chairs estimate 5-8 hours/month is required.

Jason P. Hyland (F’83) : I would like to be considered for the Chair of the Fletcher Association of Washington, DC. I am a Department of State Senior Foreign Service Officer returning from several tours overseas, who is very interested in supporting Fletcher's activities in Washington, where so many alumni live and work. I believe that activities that strengthen the Fletcher network are particularly beneficial for our community.

Zaid A. Zaid (F’99) – nominated by Carlisle Levine (F’99): I'd like to nominate Zaid A. Zaid as Chair. Zaid has already shown terrific leadership in this position. He is dedicated to Fletcher and shows that in his commitment of his time and energy to a variety of Fletcher events - Fletcher Club DC and the reunion committee, for example. As an alum, he has participated in panels for the Fletcher careers trips in both New York and Washington. He is tuned into the interests of Fletcher alums in the DC area and able to represent us well at Fletcher events. His strong diplomatic skills and good humor make him very successful at mobilizing alums and reaching out beyond the Fletcher community.
