Greater DC Cares Servathon

Greater DC Cares ServathonPedro Moreno (F'87) will be heading up a team of Fletcherites for the 2009 Greater DC Cares Servathon.

We will be serving in the morning (8:30 a.m. - 12:30 p.m.) on Saturday, May 2nd and we intend to raise at least $10,000 to contribute to this cause. It costs $25 to join the team (which covers supplies, a t-shirt, water, and snacks), and then each individual is asked to raise money on their own. (Raising money on your own is not a requirement though. You can simply pay the $25 to join the team.)

Greater DC Cares is hoping to attract 3,500 volunteers! Registration closes on April 24, so please sign up as soon as possible! You can register at the website below:

Click “Register” and after you accept the conditions choose “Join Team” and then select “The Fletcher DC Team!”

Project selection will be closer to the date of the servathon, but as a team we will help with projects that include painting and landscaping schools, building a playground, serving food, cleaning parks, planting trees, or building computer labs. Together, we will provide local nonprofits with critically needed volunteer service and make a huge impact!

There is a also a free afterparty from 1pm until 4pm with free food, drinks, and prizes.
