Zaid A. Zaid, Interim Co-Chair of the Fletcher Alumni Association of Washington DC

Dear Fletcher Community:

My name is Zaid A. Zaid, and I am the new interim Co-Chair of the Fletcher Alumni Association of Washington, D.C. In accordance with the club’s by-laws, I was elected by the Board on an interim basis after Uzma Wahhab (F’99) stepped down from the position. I will serve along with Satish Jha, the other Co-Chair.

I graduated from Fletcher in 1999, and since then – in typical Fletcher fashion – I have been all over the world. After graduation (and a little backpacking through Europe), I joined the U.S. Department of State and served in Tunis, Cairo, New York, and Baghdad. In 2004 I took a leave of absence from the Foreign Service and went to Columbia Law School. I graduated from Columbia in 2007, and I began a clerkship on U.S. Court of Appeal for the 1st Circuit. I moved to Washington, D.C., last August, and I am currently a judicial law clerk for Judge Emmet G. Sullivan on the U.S. District Court for the District of Columbia. In the fall, I will start as an associate in the Washington, D.C. office of Wilmer, Cutler, Pickering, Hale & Dorr.

I look forward to working with the current Board and planning events for the Fletcher community here in the Washington, D.C. area. Feel free to contact me at the club's email address info [at] fletcherclubofdc.org.

I hope to see you all at future Fletcher events, including Reunion up in Medford in May!

Sincerely,
Zaid A. Zaid
