The Women's Foreign Policy Group would like to invite the members of the Fletcher Alumni Club to attend our Author Series events in Washington, DC this June at the member rate.

June 13th – 1 p.m.
The Cost of Counterterrorism: Power, Politics, and Liberty
Brown Bag Luncheon & Program with Dr. Laura K. Donohue

Dr. Donohue, Fellow at CISAC and at the Center for Constitutional Law at Stanford Law School, will speak on her new book, whichasserts that in the aftermath of a terrorist attack, the balance of power shifts in favor of the executive branch, which is granted broader authority without thorough debate. Examining the cost of counterterrorist law to the UK and the US, Dr. Donohue concludes that the damage caused extends well beyond the "security or freedom" dichotomy and is significantly greater than first appears. This event will be held at Academy for Educational Development (1875 Connecticut Ave., NW) and is free or charge.
