The Fletcher Club of DC and the Washington Tufts Alliance jointly hosted a holiday party at the Ecuadorian Embassy at the gracious invitation of Ambassador Luis Gallegos (F'83). Gallegos remarked on what an important and life-changing event his time at Fletcher was while Tufts President Lawrence S. Bacow updated attendees on Tufts news and presented Gallegos with a set of Tufts cufflinks and a Fletcher globe.

Guests enjoyed Ecuadorian cuisine and socializing with fellow alumni and Embassy officials, and departed from the Columbia Heights Embassy with Ecuadorian flowers and tourism materials, courtesy of their hosts.

Susan Williams (F'00), whose work at the Andes regional program of Conservation International has led her to spend considerable time in Ecuador, acted as the Fletcher community's coordinator for the event. "It was a real pleasure working with the Ambassador and his assistant, Monica Gross, to prepare and carry out the event. I particularly appreciated the staff being so generous as to donate the flowers,
DVDs and other items promoting tourism in Ecuador," remarked Williams.
