We are pleased to announce the dates for this year’s Fletcher DC Career Trip: Thursday and Friday, February 14 & 15, 2008. Here are the many ways you can get involved in this long-standing Fletcher tradition:

Alumni-Student Lunches
Following the great success we had with these last year, the Office of Career Services (OCS) is once again coordinating a series of alumni-student lunch gatherings on Friday, February 15th, in which 1-2 alums will be matched with a small group of students interested in learning more about their career field or organization. These lunches can be held brown-bag style at your workplace or at another convenient location of your choosing.

Career Panels
This year, alumni career panels will be held primarily on Thursday, February 14, at the Brookings Institution near Dupont Circle. As many of you work for organizations students have specifically asked to see represented on these panels, we may be contacting you in the weeks to come to request your participation as a speaker. As in past years, we welcome DC area alumni to attend these panels as well. The career fields to be covered include:

- Capitol Hill

- Conflict Resolution

- Democratization/Civil Society Building

- Government Relations/Public Affairs/Lobbying

- Humanitarian Assistance/Human Rights/Refugees
- International Development/Development Consulting
- International Trade & Commerce
- Media/PR
- Policy Research/Think Tanks

- U.S. Security & Intelligence

Employer Site Visits
Employers with recruiting potential for internship or full-time positions can host Fletcher students who are interested in learning more about their organizations. In many cases, we can link these visits to a resume collection and interviews.

Focus Group Gatherings

OCS is helping to facilitate a panel and reception with the Fletcher Alumni of Color Association, a gathering of former and current PMI/PMF Fellows and a DC Fletcher Women’s Network lunch.

Alumni-Student Reception
Finally, please mark your calendars for the annual Alumni-Student Reception, which will take place on the evening of Thursday, February 14th at the Embassy of Saudi Arabia. Invitations for this event will be sent separately by the Fletcher Office of Development and Alumni Relations by mid January. Space is limited so registration will be on a first-come, first-served basis.

Should you wish to participate in an alumni-student lunch, speak on a panel or host a site visit, please kindly write to tamara [dot] golden [at] tufts [dot] edu or call 617-627-5050.
