Women's Foreign Policy Group Event: Book Talk with Dr. Susan Shirk

The Women's Foreign Policy Group (WFPG) has extended an invitation to the DC Alumni Association for the following event, at the WFPG member rate.

On October 4th the WFPG will host an Authors Series program with Dr. Susan Shirk, Director of the Institute on Global Conflict and Cooperation and former Deputy Assistant Secretary of State in the Bureau of East Asia and Pacific Affairs. Dr. Shirk will discuss her new book China, Fragile Superpower: How China’s Internal Politics Could Derail Its Peaceful Rise. The Foreign Affairs bestseller describes the dangers caused by the increasing insecurity of China’s leaders and the importance of understanding the internal politics of China as the nation’s role in global politics continues to grow. The discussion will be followed by a book signing.

The reception and program will begin at 5:30 p.m. in the 8th Floor Board Room at the Academy for Educational Development.
